Browser Games, Dragon Age Journeys, Machinarium

It seems like the browser finally gets more and more interesting as a gaming platform.

Two nice examples I came across this week are the following:

Dragon Age Journeys

First, Electronic Arts has released a free flash game called Dragon Age Journeys,
which is an appetizer to Bioware's upcoming roleplaying blockbuster Dragon Age.
It is worth to say that Dragon Age Journeys is far more than small flash game spinoff with a big name. It is in fact a full blown roleplaying game of its own. Story, quests, lots and lots of items, monsters, tactical round based fighting and you get it all for free. An interesting aspect is that by reaching several achievements in this game you can get some special items for use in Dragon Age next month as reward.

Here's one of the battles I had to fight in the game:

Machinarium

The next game is a very interesting looking indie game introduced at pax this year, I think. It's a point and click adventure about a robot and very nicely designed.
The game is available to buy on the Machinarium homepage and on Steam.
Great thing is, the developers put a flash demo of the first part of the game on their site so you can try it without any downloading or installing directly in your browser.

I also took a small video of the first part of the demo:
